On March 4th, 2008, Ruth Pfleiger's life changed dramatically.  Her home at 329 Erie Avenue in Telford was ravaged by an accidental electrical fire that left the home severely damaged and uninhabitable.  This was the same home that she grew up in and lived in all of her life since she was young child. Fortunately, Ruth was not at home when the fire started so she was not injured but several pets lost their lives in the fire as Ruth was an
animal lover.  These pets were her companions since Ruth lived there by herself.

Although Ruth lived her entire life in the Souderton/Telford area, she no longer has any living relatives in the area and has been staying with a friend.  At this point, Ruth is in need of a place to live while she decides what to do about the home and how she is going to get her life back together.

Upon finding out that Ruth did not have Home Owner's insurance and really had no one to turn to, several members of the Telford Fire Company have begun reaching out to give her a hand.  Recently about a dozen members of the Telford Fire Company helped to start cleaning out the home to salvage what could be saved and to begin to get the home ready for renovations. They also have started a fund and they are reaching out to the community, asking for donations to help Ruth get back on her feet.  If you would like to help
Ruth, donations can be sent to:

Ruth Pfleiger FUND

If anyone would like to help Ruth in any other way or if you would have any questions, please call 215-723-2187.
